Race at Brands Hatch in Forza Motorsport Update 7

Brands Hatch arrives alongside the Retro Racers Tour in Forza Motorsport Update 7. Download today!

Forza Motorsport Update 7 rolls out for download starting Monday, April 8 at 10:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM UTC on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam.

Spotlight cars and new Career, Featured Multiplayer and Rivals events start on Wednesday, April 10 from 5:00 PM PT (12:00 AM UTC on Thursday, April 11). Update 7 will be live in the game for 5 weeks before Update 8 is released in mid-May. Update 8 will not include a track – our next track release is scheduled for Update 9, expected to be available in June.

Game Improvements and Release Notes

Update 7 reduces the installation footprint of Forza Motorsport by around 15-20%, decreasing its file size by 25GB on Xbox Series X|S and 29GB on PC. To accommodate this optimization, today’s update will be slightly larger than usual at 15GB.

Update 7 also introduces new experience improvements to the game, including changes to Forza Race Regulations and Proximity Arrows, as well as fixes to Multiplayer and the Livery Editor, and Le Mans track.

Below is a snapshot of the fixes contained in Update 7. Head on over to Forza Support to find the full release notes for this version:

  • Fixed a PC stability issue where the player would encounter an infinite loading screen when selecting Design & Paint for a car that hasn’t been purchased. [1665348]

  • We’ve added new PC audio settings for sample rate and buffer size which can be adjusted to reduce CPU usage. [1652110]

  • Proximity arrows are now enabled for all players by default in Multiplayer.

  • Proximity arrows now angle themselves based on car world position relative to the player car and camera rather than screen-space projection, providing more accurate arrow directions especially in non-chase camera views. [1637283]

  • Added new uniform “Scale” and non-uniform “Stretch” tools to replace “Size.” These can be applied to individual decals or layer groups.

  • Fixed an issue where Shared Tunes were not appearing after the 8th tune in Search Results. [1663755]

  • Updates to numerous textures have been made on the Le Mans Full Circuit and Old Mulsanne Circuit to address various misplaced and low-resolution textures visible in multiple zones, including track signage and overpass inscriptions. [1723655]

This update introduces the Brands Hatch track to Career, Multiplayer, Free Play and Rivals.

Located a short drive from London, Brands Hatch is widely considered one of the most iconic sporting venues in Europe and has a rich history of hosting a variety of motorsport events, including the British Grand Prix.

Brands Hatch is also renowned for its challenging layout, with a combination of fast straights, tight corners, and elevation changes that make it a favorite among drivers and fans alike. Its first turn, the Paddock Hill Bend, sees cars diving downhill at high speed and then climbing back up into the tight hairpin turn called Druids.

The Grand Prix layout features three high speed corners called Hawthorns, Westfield and Sheene Curve which challenge drivers to be millimeter-accurate when choosing their turn in points on this relatively narrow circuit. Meanwhile, the Indy layout is a short 1.2-mile thrill ride which pairs perfectly with slower cars and grassroots events.

Get ready to race with three new deliveries coming to Car Pass holders in Update 7. These include the 2019 Ginetta G55 GT4, 1970 Matra-Simca #146 Equipe Matra-Simca MS650 Tour de France and 2016 Ligier #11 Euro international JS P3.
