World’s Largest Cruise Ship Headed To Florida To Join Royal Caribbean Fleet
It took 3 years to build, but now the world’s largest cruise ship is set to take its maiden voyage next month. The Wonder of the Seas by Royal Caribbean integrates classic offerings with new and upgraded experiences and spaces.
Wonder Of The Seas
The cruise ship has nearly 3,000 staterooms to carry roughly 5,700 guests. It’s 210 feet wide with 18 decks and 24 elevators. Among the new offerings is a large family suite, which can hold up to 10 guests. The Ultimate Family Suite is part of the ship’s Suite Neighborhood — an area for suite guests that includes a plunge pool, bar, private sun deck, and private restaurant.
There is also a brand new restaurant and bar on board the ship. The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar will serve up Southern staples like fried chicken, crab beignets, and shrimp and grits in a farmhouse atmosphere. There will also be live country music. The Vue Bar boasts ocean views and happy hour drink offerings.
For the kids, the Wonder of the Seas has the Wonder Playscape — an interactive play area complete with slides, climbing walls, and games. This is in addition to the three water slides and a second kids aqua park near the main pool deck.
Mixed with the new are beloved Royal Caribbean offerings like Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, kids and teen areas, and a surf simulator. Wonder of the Seas is the Royal Caribbean’s fifth ship in its Oasis Class cruise ships.
Wonder of the Seas will make its inaugural sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 4, 2022, to the Caribbean. Itineraries available in March and April include both Eastern and Western Caribbean locations, like the Bahamas, Honduras, and Puerto Rico. Then, in May, the Wonder of the Seas will go over to Europe and offer Western Mediterranean cruise with stops in Naples and Spain. It will then return to Florida — but this time Port Canaveral — where it will offer sailings to places like St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Cozumel.
