Former WVU F Devin Williams Returns to the Court, Signing With Team in Puerto Rico
On Monday morning, it was first reported by Luis Modestti of LatinBasketball.com that former WVU forward Devin Williams signed a deal with Vaqueros de Bayamón in Puerto Rico. Williams has spent the last few weeks in Morgantown rehabbing an injury.
Williams will now return to the court to begin his sixth season in international play. Williams, now 27-years-old, has played for Vaqueros de Bayamón, making his second stint with the team in his career.
The 6-foot-9 forward played in the NBA Summer League back in 2016, while also getting a chance with the Maine Red Claws in the G-League. Williams has played in Australia, China, Montenegro, Turkey and South Korea over his six professional seasons.
Williams played at West Virginia under head coach Bob Huggins from 2013-16, helping the Mountaineers reach the Sweet 16 in 2015. The Cincinnati native averaged 11.1 points and 8.3 rebounds in 102 career games for WVU.
