This is when RedMagic is launching its next gaming tablet

RedMagic launched the Astra gaming tablet internationally last June, and now it’s almost ready to unveil its successor. We assume this will be called Astra 2 globally, but inside China it will be known as the RedMagic Tablet 5 Pro (the original Astra was the Tablet 3 Pro and they’re skipping the number 4 due to tetraphobia).

Today during its launch of the 11S Pro series, RedMagic has also started teasing the upcoming tablet, with the image you can see below. The brand has revealed that the tablet will become official in June, so almost exactly one year after its predecessor.

The new tablet features ten cutting-edge technologies according to RedMagic, but the brand hasn’t revealed any of them just yet. We fully expect it to start teasing some specs in the coming days and weeks.

In the meantime, we can refer back to a leak from March, which claimed the Astra 2 would have a screen with a 200Hz refresh rate, a similar size to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC at the helm, and a battery around 9,000 mAh. Compared to the original Astra, the chipset is upgraded, the battery is bigger, and the refresh rate is higher.
