It’s out.
In July, The Wall Street Journal reported that Jeffrey Epstein had received a bawdy letter from Donald Trump in 2003 to mark Epstein’s 50th birthday. Though the reports at the time described the letter, which included a crude drawing of a naked woman and the weird dialogue between Trump and Epstein it contained, as well as details about other messages inside the birthday book that Ghislaine Maxwell had compiled for Epstein, neither the Journal nor any other outlet published a copy of the actual letter itself. Now it’s out, after lawyers for Epstein’s estate sent a copy of the birthday book to Congress in response to a subpoena issued last month by the House Oversight Committee. Democrats on the committee released an image of the letter on Monday:
Trump has repeatedly denied sending the letter to Epstein, insisting it’s fake and filing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Journal and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, and parent company, News Corp., and publisher, Dow Jones. Trump also denied that he ever draws or doodles, despite having repeatedly done so in the past.
White House deputy chief of staff for communications Taylor Budowich responded to the release of the letter on X, insisting the signature wasn’t authentic:
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also said that the image was proof the letter was not authentic:
The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire “Birthday Card” story is false. As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. President Trump’s legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation. …
This is FAKE NEWS to perpetuate the Democrat Epstein Hoax!
